Color schemes from photos

I stole this idea from Adam Polselli.

I think most of us have turned to photographs to select colors for a web site. Usually we’re picking a color scheme that works with a photo.

Polselli, however, uses the technique as a creative exercise in choosing colors. I’ve pretty much hi-jacked his idea and its presentation for this series. I also find that this exercise really does help develop color schemes that I would not otherwise think of.

Most of these photos were downloaded from stock.xchng, a repository of free stock photographs. The original photographers own the copyright on these photos.

The top two photos (Vista House and Rooster Rock State Park in Oregon) are leftovers from my trip to Oregon. I own the copyright on them. Please no stealing.
