Review: The online mind map smackdown
Mind mapping may just be the next wave of online applications. Advanced JavaScript libraries and Flash are enabling web-based mind map applications that are almost as robust as their off-line counterparts (such as Freemind). [2 Jul 2007]
This is why, this is why, this is why I Tweet.
Title jacked from Baratunde. Questions asked by danah. First, the practical question. Can i quote you? [X] Yes, and you must use my real name. [ ] Yes, but please use a pseudonym and don’t use any identifying information. [ ] No, please just use this for your own weird thoughts. Why do you use [...] [3 May 2007]

So now that we’ve all got 5011 online profiles, blogs, and accounts in 5011 places, several companies are stepping in to create online identity and reputation management tools. Here’s a round-up, although I can’t offer much in the way of commentary. I’m basing my descriptions on under-5-minute-browse-bys (kind of like a drive-by, but with out [...] [30 Nov 2006]

I installed it, and WHOA. This extension kicks some serious blogging-through-the-browser a**. Below [...] [5 Jul 2006]
Flock browser: Is it worth the switch?
Updated to add: Once you hit the publish button, Flock takes an awful long time to exit the “Publishing your post” dialog. The post publishes very quickly. But you wouldn’t know it from looking at the dialog box. Flock recently released a beta version of its browser. I downloaded their developer preview a while back, [...] [28 Jun 2006]
Political action alert: Bill could block school/library access to social networking sites
Thanks to danah for the heads-up about a bill proposed in the House this week that would effectively block access to sites like MySpace, Yahoo!, Friendster, BlackPlanet.com, MiGente.com and Facebook from federally-funded schools and libraries. Danah explains why this is a bad, bad, really stupid idea. Because it affects both libraries and schools, it will [...] [12 May 2006]

I mentioned this briefly in the Atlanta PHP May meeting post. Structured blogging is an intiative to provide a standard format for blogging about particular forms of content. The idea is to make it easier to share particular bits of microcontent by publishing it in a consistent form. The Structured Blogging team has developed plugins [...] [1 May 2006]
