On making art and finding yourself

Working in layers is very similar to unraveling in layers. You can not get to the essence of who you are without removing the layers of who you are not. To arrive at the final stage of one of my works of art, I work in layers, adding a little at a time until it feels right. Notice I said feel and not looks right.
