I like MooTools because it feels like JavaScript. I didn't have to learn a whole new syntax. But jQuery is way more popular and has a more robust community. If you are a professional front-end developer, jQuery is good to know because it is a bit more entrenched. To me, however, jQuery forces you to change how you code where MooTools does not. It really depends on what you are comfortable with and what you want to do. I like MooTools because it feels like JavaScript. I didn’t have to learn a whole new syntax.

But jQuery is way more popular and has a more robust community. If you are a professional front-end developer, jQuery is good to know because it is a bit more entrenched.
