Yeah, what Baratunde said.

All that needs to be said about the verdict in the Sean Bell case.
The NYPD things black people are made of Kevlar.

  1. yeh that sums it up well.

We been covering Sean Bell’s case over at Highbrid Nation from the start and when I read today that the police officers were acquitted I was in serious disbelief. An unarmed man was shot 50 times and the people who did it are not responsible at all!? That’s crazy.

  2. Even if the detectives really though someone in the bachelor party was packing, 50 shots is excessive. Why reload a magazine if you’re not being fired at?

  3. Are you familiar with the Amadou Diallo case in New York? Almost identical situation.

    See here: http://www.courttv.com/trials/diallo/

I am at a point where I am honestly scared of the NYPD and I am a resident of NY. That is not good to feel uncomfortable in the state you live in. But, then I am a brown person who may get shot at 30 times by a white officer because I am the wrong color? Should I feel wrong for feeling this way?

But then you know the white cop shot Sean Bell 31 times and the other shots came from 2 black officers.

I mean 31 times is pretty much excessive. To me that is even inhumane for anyone to shoot that much. That is a human being and not a firing squad!!
