8 blogs you should be reading

Useful, interesting and/or fun, these are eight blogs to which I have recently been introduced.

Clientside
I mentioned Clientside before as a place to find documentation for Mootools, but it’s also the home of a very robust blog on JavaScript and other front-end development topics.
FOSSwire
News, reviews, and tutorials about free and open source software for Linux, Windows and Mac OS X
Freelance Switch
Advice on making your solo operation more profitable.
The Hood Internet
Okay, this is more like a blog that you should listen to. It’s mashups of hip-hop and R&B songs with electronic dance music. Equal parts hot and not, but always interesting.
Last100
From the folks behind Read/WriteWeb, Last100 covers digital media and devices for those who live way too much of their lives connected to wires and networks.
Microscopiq
An interesting mix of game reviews, design, gadgets, politics and the intersections of culture and technology.
Simplehelp
Groovy computing and technology tips for Mac, Windows and Linux users. Many of these tips are geared towards n00bs, but advanced users will also find some tasty bits.
WebAppers
Delicious freebies and top-notch tips for client-side web developers.

  1. Thanks for the mention.

  2. Great post. I am interested to see what else you read. What’s your top 10 favorite blogs?

  3. ohhh! I need this for school! thanks

  4. Top 10? I don’t have a top 10. I think most of the feeds in my reader are either news feeds or corporate blogs, or else they don’t update often enough to make them a favorite. I think Lifehacker.com is my only Must Read blog.

  5. Though I’m taking a bit of a break (hey it’s the end of summer.. what can I say) I’ve still gotta say thanks for the mention :) And I totally agree w/ you re: Lifehacker - that’s my only “must read” blog too.
