OurIndustryIsBroken.com and the new FletcherMartin.com

If you’re in the advertising industry, you and your company are probably feeling the pinch of a changing advertising landscape. Fletcher Martin — the folks who sign my paychecks — believes that our industry is broken. We made a web site about it. Like to see it? Here it goes.

We also launched a new look for our website (designed by Brad Sarmiento, developed by moi) that reflects our new approach.

I’ll save the more technical how-I-did-it stuff for another post. But I would like to hear your feedback about both web sites and whether you agree that the advertising industry is broken and what — if anything — you think we need to change.

  1. Fletcher Martin: very pleasant on the eyes. I’m not so enamored of the “clever” navigation, though.

Industry is Broken: great food for thought; for the first time in my career I’m in a position that deals with an agency now and then, and I’m still trying to figure out how it works. :) But sound that can’t be turned off? Boo. (And I have to hook up headphones to get comprehensible sound on this computer, so I’m not sure what I missed.)

    In both cases, a conditional thumbs-up. :)

  2. Looks like you did a great job!

However, to be honest, I’m not so enamored withe graphics underneath the navigation, though. They just don’t say “We Advertise” to me.

    Holla.
