Eco-friendlier overland travel
I have this crazy dream to travel the world and write (or blog) about it. But I also have this guilt about taking such trips because of the likelihood that I would have to fly to most destinations … or at least fly that big jump between North America and Europe.
These companies and sites, however, all provide eco-friendlier travel options by taking advantage of mass-transit, cars, vans and — in some cases — elephants.
- Ozbus: Overland from London, UK to Sydney, Australia.
- Dragoman: Adventure travel overland to the Americas, Asia and Africa
- Intrepid Travel: Global travel packages that incorporate as much local and ground transport as possible.
None of these are based in the United States, though Intrepid does have a U.S. office.

ohhh! good stuff. I have to plan my excursions since I have a great schedule to travel and explore the world and uh, why is that a crazy dream? It’s fantastic!
It’s crazy because I’m broke :-).
The broke thing is temporary, but finding enough time to travel is also hard.
