Because all child molesters use MySpace!

From CNet: Bill would make sex offenders submit e-mail addresses

The only problems are:

  1. You’d actually have to catch them using an unregistered or inactive and unreported address.
  2. The sex offender in question would have to use MySpace and Facebook.
  3. Not all sex offenders are child molesters.
  4. Not all child molesters are registered sex offenders.

So um, what exactly does this bill do besides making its sponsors look like they’re Protecting Our Children and creating a lot more work for everyone. (Sorry, I just get nervous when politicians start talking about technology because they get it wrong most of the time.)
