I wasn’t going to say anything, but …
Since at least two different Atlanta news outlets are spilling the beans about who won at the BET Hip-Hop Awards (to be televised Wednesday), I might as well try for some traffic, right?
The BET Hip-Hop Awards as best I remember them.

- Hip-hop Hustler Award: Jay-Z I guess endorsement deals with EA, HP and Budweiser will do that.
- I Am Hip Hop Icon Award: Grandmaster Flash
- Rookie of the Year: Chamillionaire
- People’s Champ Award: Chamillionaire
- Best Lyricist: Common
- Move the Crowd Award: Busta Rhymes
- Producer of the Year: Jermaine Dupri
- Video of the Year: T.I.
More random observations … Katt Williams is a funny m.f. … Flavor Flav’s chain hangs really low, although it doesn’t quite wobble to the flo’ … Rhinestones and glitter on grown men is just not cool. I don’t care how much money you’ve got… Why didn’t the tickets tell folks to be at the Fox before six o’clock if the taping was supposed to start at 6 p.m.? You know everybody was going to be running on CPT … The stripper on the left pole should have been in the center of the stage during Jeezy’s performance. If I had been about 20 rows closer and had a $20 bill, I would have thrown thrown it on the stage. Hopefully you will get to see the pole trick that made the whole crowd say “Whoooooa” about 2/3 of the way through the song. … Why are rappers (with the exception of Busta Rhymes who is about 6′6″) so short? … Why was the crowd so unbelievably dead for Baby and Lil Wayne (being dead for Rick Ross is something I understand)? … Where was Common, and why couldn’t he be there?
