Israel vs. Hezbollah & Lebanon = U.S. Attacking Iran, Syria in 2007

Cross-posted on BlackFeminism.org]

Keep an eye on the rhetoric coming from the White House regarding Israel’s attacks on Lebanon. My inner paranoid conspiracy theorist thinks that this may indeed be the perfect ruse to justify an act of American attack on Iran and/or Syria as neo-Cons have planned since at least 2000 [PDF file] (more info).

Consider the following paragraph:

The United States strongly condemned Hizbullah’s abduction of two Israeli soldiers Wednesday and blamed Syria and Iran for the attack.

“We call for the immediate and unconditional release of the two soldiers. We also hold Syria and Iran, which directly support Hizbullah, responsible for this attack and for the ensuing violence,” said White House national security spokesman Frederick Jones.

And consider that the American people aren’t going to go for another okey-doke in the form of an al-Qaeda terrorist attack that its goverment (falsely) blames on Iran or Syria. But I suspect Americans would be perfectly okay with running to Israel’s aid if Syria decides it’s going to have Lebanon’s back and attack Israel. All Dubya an’em have to say is “We’re helping Israel fight against terror from within and outside of its borders against the same extremists who want to attack our freedom.”

Might our neo-Con brethren, hell-bent on world — or at least Middle Eastern oil — domination use “defending our ally Israel” as an excuse to fatten their wallets with defense contract and oil-drilling profits by attacking Syria and Iran?

Am I crazy? Possibly. But this latest rumble in the Middle East has me concerned about our Dear Leaders’ stated policy (that’d be the “Kick Some Middle Eastern A**” doctrine) and our relationship with Israel.
