Low-clutter news site design

You may or may not know (and you may or may not care) that I started my career in online journalism. So I have a bit of an interest in how news is presented online.

To me most news web sites throw way to much at the user. So much so that it’s hard to sort through the clutter and get to where you want to go.

The California Aggie, a product of University of California - Davis does just the opposite. Never thought a news homepage could look so clean. Even if they added more advertising units, the design would be largely-clutter free.

Now if the big boys could get the message.
